OUR IMPACT TO DATE
We are dedicated to transforming the lives of young people from previously disadvantaged areas.
Through diverse programs and projects, we empower them with the skills and opportunities they need to thrive.
Together, we are building a brighter future for our communities.
Empowerment programme
Join us as we celebrate the success of 48 dedicated learners from KwaMashu high schools who participated in our intense 5-day empowerment winter school in June 2024.
In September 2024, we facilitated the Mkhambathini Municipality's 3-day Summer School where 130 Grade 11 learners were empowered for matric, tertiary studies and employment.
In November 2024, we empowered over 120 Grade 11 learners of KwaMakhutha at Innokusasalakho Festival.
In June 20205, 100 Grade 11 learners from KwaMashu and Inanda high schools were exposed to our 5-day empowerment winter school.
An additional 220 Grade 12 learners attended the Career Expo during the 2025 winter school.
This transformative experience equipped them with valuable skills and knowledge to thrive in their future endeavors. We are proud of their commitment to personal growth and look forward to seeing the positive impact they will make in their communities!

The learners were also educated about healthy eating to prevent and manage various diseases.
2 clinics in Inada receive regular nutrition support through our Registered Dietitian, supporting the nurses and community health workers in nutrition screening and education.
Participated in the Department of Health's Door-to-Door Campaign in Inanda, providing nutrition screen and education.
Uniforms & School Essentials

Mental Health Support
48 cohort 1 learners received mental health education during the mental health workshop held in February 2025, in partnership with Lifeline Durban and the KwaMashu Department of Social Development office.
148 Grade 11 and 12 learners were empowered about GBV, social media bullying and mental health. This includes education around what to do in cases of being a victim or when you know someone who is a victim. What support is available in such cases.
Vegetable Gardens
We help establish and revived 3 communal vegetable gardens in Dube village, Congo and Ohlange, in Inanda. The members were given seeds and seedlings.
One of the gardens includes very hard working and enthusiastic persons with disabilities.
We have established good partnerships with the Department of Agriculture and the eThekwini Municipality's Agro-ecology department in supporting these gardens.
We have identified households in Inanda who have expressed interest in establishing home vegetable gardens.
All these interventions improve household food security, nutrition status and over-all well-being of individuals.
Skills development
In partnership with the Department of health, we have trained 148 Community Health Workers of Inanda on Nutrition.
In partnership with eThekwini Municipality's Agro-ecology department, we have trained 40 community members of Inanda on how to establish vegetable gardens and what to plant when.
In October 2025, our cohort 2 learners are scheduled to go through basic end-user computer training in preparation for their tertiary studies and beyond. This training will be done in partnership with the eThekwini Municipality's Training Academy during the school holidays in October.
Sanitary pads & hygiene products
Sanitary pads have been distributed to all our girls in Cohort 1 and Cohort 2, as well as KwaMakhutha festival learners.
Tertiary Applications
We assisted and paid for our Cohort 1 learners (48) tertiary applications, for their studies next year.
